Bring Mega City back online
The goal is a living multiplayer world again: districts, characters, progression, interaction and the shared spaces that made The Matrix Online more than a single-player game.
About // MXOR
MXOR — The Matrix Online Revived — is an independent fan-made effort to rebuild the path back to Mega City and make The Matrix Online a living multiplayer game again.
What revived means
The point of MXOR is not simply to preserve old code or reproduce screenshots of how the game once looked. The public-facing goal is to make the experience usable again: log in, enter Mega City, meet other players and have a world that continues to exist when you leave it.
The technical reconstruction underneath that experience matters enormously, but it is the foundation rather than the destination. Players should eventually see a coherent service, not the reverse-engineering work required to make it possible.
That is why the website is being built as a game portal now: community first, clear service status, then accounts, downloads, testing and game access when those systems are genuinely ready.
The path back
The revival is being built in layers, with each public capability opening only when it is ready to support players properly.
The goal is a living multiplayer world again: districts, characters, progression, interaction and the shared spaces that made The Matrix Online more than a single-player game.
Returning redpills and new operatives need a place to meet before the doors open. The MXOR community is already forming around the revival while the game service is rebuilt.
When the service is ready, this website will become the gateway to accounts, downloads, testing, server status and everything players need to jack back in.
Right now
Public game access is not available yet. You can follow the revival, join the community and watch the network status while Mega City is rebuilt.
